This passage of Scripture puts a warm smile into my heart every time I read it.
How many people have been to church where it appears that the Minister goes on and on and on? Well, The same thing happened to a young man named Eutychus in a passage of the Bible in the book called Acts: 20:9-12.
And on the first day of the week when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart the next day. And he continued his speech until midnight.
And there were many lights in the upper chamber (a lot of people there) where they were gathered together.
And there sat in a window a certain young man named Eutychus, being fallen to sleep due to Paul’s long preaching. Eutychus sunk down with sleep, and fell out the window from the third story loft, and died.
And Paul went down and fell on him, and embracing him saying, trouble not yourselves; for his life is in him.
When life returned to Eutychus, he broke bread, and had eaten. And Paul continued to talk a long while, even til the break of day. (Dawn) And Paul departed.
And they brought the young man alive, but the people were disturbed.
